LIMITATIONS ON USE
Your use of the eBooks, eTexts, and associated graphics obtained through this web site is subject to the following limitations:
- The eBooks, eTexts, and associated graphics obtained through this web site may not be used for any commercial purpose.
- The Public Domain eBooks, eTexts, and associated graphics obtained through this web site may be copied in print or electronic form without our permission as long as K-12 Free Homeschool is credited.
- Users are not permitted to download the eBooks, eTexts, or associated graphics or any other content, excepting public domain texts, in order to mount them on their own servers for public use or for use by a set of users or subscribers.
ENROLLMENT CRITERIA
- Registering parent and their student(s) must reside in the United States all at the same physical address and be United States citizens. At this time we are not able to accept non U.S. citizens or U.S. citizens living abroad.
- Parents must complete a full online enrollment form and remit incidental or elective fees (if any) and maintain their account in good standing using a valid credit or debit card. This card is used to help with identification and is kept on account for incidental purchases (if any). It must be registered to the enrolling parent at the permanent address that the parent uses during the enrollment process and that address is the residence of both the cardholder and the student(s). Parents and their enrolled students must reside at the same street address. For security and accounting issues we are not currently able to accept payments via check or money order.
- Parents and/or students may not currently have applied for or currently attend (or have previously attended) any online course(s) from any other online course/curriculum provider. The sole exception is application to or attendance at a public online charter school. Only homeschoolers with no previous experience with online learning are currently being accepted. (This criteria meets our corporate sponsorship requirement that all opinions from parents and/or students are from a "fresh" view with no previous exposure to K-12 online learning).
- Parents must agree to comply with any/all government homeschool regulations and meet all homeschool criteria in your area of residence. Parents employed by or who have immediate family members employed by any company involved in online K-12 education, public online charter school, curriculum developer/publisher and/or any other competitive activity may not apply for enrollment for their student(s) at this time.
- For security purposes and quality communications, parents and students must submit and maintain on file a working telephone number, email address that is regularly checked, valid street address of actual residence (no P.O. Boxes or 3rd party mail services), credit or debit card for incidental purchases and identification that is associated with the street address of residence of parent and student(s).

TUITION
K-12 Free Homeschool has both public and private sections of this web site. Access to these private sections requires a username and password which are created by the parent during the enrollment process. Tuition for core curriculum/courses is free to registered students in good standing. Upon enrollment, the student's parent or guardian is agreeing to pay any associated costs such as Shipping & Handling or any published fee. In addition to core curriculum/courses, K-12 Free Homeschool offers optional elective courses, course upgrades, and other goods and services at additional cost. Parents or students are never required to purchase any upgrade or any other goods. All core curriculum/courses are always tuition-free at K-12 Free Homeschool.
Enrollment includes access to up to 6 courses. There may be additional fees and course materials for additional courses which are clearly described within the official course description.
REFUND POLICY
Families have 30 days from the first student log on in which to determine if the School's programs suit the needs of their student(s).
Tuition fees for optional or elective courses, Teacher-led services, and other elective upgrade tuitions may be refundable according to the following schedule:
- Disenrollment within 30 days of enrollment:
If entire tuition has been paid in full at the time of registration, the family will receive a refund of their entire tuition payment minus 25%. - Disenrollment after 30 days of enrollment:
After 30 days, all tuition fees are due and payable. No refunds are available on tuition, curriculum materials, CD Usage Fees, or any other fees after that time. - Familes disenrolling after 60 days are responsible for the entire cost of tuition for the home school year.
CHANGES TO COURSE SELECTION
Students may drop or add courses at any time throughout the home school year, subject to the following fees:
- Course Removal Fee: $10 per home school course
- Course Add Fee: $25 per home school course
For students dropping a course and replacing it (immediately) with another, the Course Removal Fee will be waived and the family will be responsible for the Course Add Fee alone.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
At this time K-12 Free Homeschool requires the use of Visa or Mastercard credit or debit cards in our secure online Auto-Pay system. An active card is required for account security and so that the system can automatically process charge card payments if/when any remittance is due. Using Auto-Pay helps assure uninterrupted service and helps to avoid interest and late charges. Declined Credit Card transactions are subject to a $1.00 Declined Credit Card Fee. Member Services can be reached via e-mail at MemberServices@K-12FreeHomeschool.org, via phone at 215-487-3700, Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM EST, or by mail at K-12 Free Homeschool, 10 Shurs Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19127.
Accounts that are placed in collection because of non-payment are subject to additional fees as permitted by law. The account holder is responsible for all collection costs (legal and para-legal) associated with collection activities for accounts that are cancelled for non-payment. Accounts cancelled or suspended for non-payment are subject to reporting to credit agencies and collection services.
RETURN OF MATERIALS
Most curriculum materials are provided online via eBooks and/or downloads. Depending on course selection, some curriculum materials may be provided via ground shipment after enrollment has been completed. K-12 Free Homeschool is primarily an online learning environment and, as such, the bulk of the student's curriculum is presented online. Additionally, CDs containing essential video and audio may be included. CD-Video discs are usually provided as free curriculum (S&H may be additional) and must be returned at the end of the current learning year or upon disenrollment. There is a CD-Video replacement fee of $10.00 per CD that is not returned and received within 30 days of end of learning year or disenrollment date, whichever comes first.(Students who do not attend classes for 30 days or more are automatically disenrolled unless other arrangements are made via email.) Some courses do not have CDs, while others can be accompanied by one to ten CDs.
SUSPENSION, ETC.
Suspension is a temporary discontinuance of access to the K-12 Free Homeschool username/password-protected sections. Students remain enrolled during a suspension and all financial responsibilities remain in effect during a suspension. If a student is expelled for any reason, the financial responsibility to the tuition ceases upon expulsion. Suspension or expulsion can occur for a variety of reasons, including abuse of Social Center privileges. The most common reasons for suspension or expulsion are for inappropriate language or prohibited communications and/or actions.
We recommend that you review our Privacy Policy that is posted on this web site, which is part of these Terms of Use and which we may amend from time to time. If at any time you are not in compliance with the policy, we have the right to terminate your rights of use and access to this web site. Unfortunately, we cannot ensure that all personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in the Privacy Policy. We may be required by law to disclose information to government authorities, law enforcement, or to third parties upon subpoena, and you authorize us to disclose information as we believe, in our sole discretion, is necessary and appropriate.
RELIGIOUS CONTENT AND WORLD-VIEW
The K-12 Free Homeschool web site is centered around traditional, conservative Christianity which is not only limited to subjects such as Bible or Devotions but is extended to be integrated in all traditional subjects. Christian concepts are integrated into all subject areas in all grade levels. The type of Christian content is generally described in our Statement of Faith. All students, regardless of religious background, are expected to learn and master all teachings that include our Christian foundation. Understanding that this is a Christian learning environment, you agree not to express, attempt to persuade, or proselytize other parents or students to a differing view even if you disagree with these positions. This policy is in place because parents expect that the Christian teaching received is consistent with our Statement of Faith. This policy does not preclude discussions of comparative religions limited to classrooms where such discussion is part of the determined and approved lesson structure. This policy does not apply to situations such as personal, non-public, one-to-one discussions with teachers, tutors, and/or administrators to discuss and explore matters of a spiritual nature; we encourage such inquiry and encourage our teachers, tutors, and administration to participate to the degree that the time involved in such discussions does not interfere with their ability to well tend to the primary needs of their students.
